In celebration of National Teacher Day, Senator Caesar Trunzo (R-Brentwood) presented Certificates of Appreciation to 41 outstanding teachers from the 3rd Senate District during an April 11th ceremony at Suffolk Community College in Selden. School principals from each school district represented by Senator Trunzo were asked to nominate an outstanding teacher from their school. A crowd of over three hundred family members, friends and fellow educators joined Senator Trunzo to honor these esteemed teachers and thank them for their commitment to education. "Our teachers deserve special recognition for their roles in educating and preparing our children for the future," said Senator Trunzo. "I am pleased to have this opportunity to honor these remarkable teachers and I thank their principals for helping to make this event a success." "Education has always been one of my top priorities. I am proud that I was able to help secure record school aid funding in this year’s budget of $1.8 billion, which reflects more than $68 million in increased funding for Suffolk County school districts that I represent. That means that the teachers we honored tonight, and their fellow educators, will have the resources they need to continue to provide the best education for our children."
